Celebrating Shaylyn's 7th birthday!

Last weekend all the kids and grandkids came over to celebrate Shaylyn's birthday. We had pizza and Caesar salad. Shaylyn opened her presents and then cake and ice cream. It is always nice when the family comes over, grandkids get kind of rowdy when they can't go outside. Here are some pictures of Shaylyn opening her presents, I think she got what she wanted.
Happy birthday Shaylyn, hope it was a great one!!

Boots like her Mom's.

The rest of the grandkids are right in there, seeing what she got.

It is so nice now that the kids are getting older, we can give them money instead of trying to figure out what they want.

Cierra didn't want me to take her picture, I guess because she got a new hairdo. I think it looks great.

Shay coloring with all her new colored pencils.

They love to sit with Grandpa.

Sometimes I get in the pictures too.

Hunting trip!

Some pictures from our hunting trip. Doug and Chance came with us for a few days. We met up with Teri and Bill at camp, they had gotten there a few days earlier then us. We had family coming and going the whole time we were there. Even though the hunting was not successful we had a good time. This was Chance's first year hunting, I think he had a good time and will continue to go. It was cold, rainy, snowy, sunny and even very windy, we had a bit of everything. Before we got to camp Teri, Bill and Mike were there when a big tree fell in the woods. The trees were huge and they were a little concerned.

I about froze, I did everything to keep warm. We were dry camping so we had to conserve on everything.

Mindy, Austin and Shaylyn came to pick up Chance so he could go back to school. Doug stayed a few more days. Here we are around the campfire.

Mushrooms, I don't know if we asked Bill what kind they are, he knows all about mushrooms.

Shaylyn with her fire poking stick.

This was the day we left, the snow was coming down pretty hard for awhile. This is the tent where some of the boys stayed in.

Teri and Bill's trailer.

Our trailer. 11 days is a long time to be camping, but I actually had a good time. The guys were disappointed that no one got anything, maybe next year.

Mindy needed me to help her with a little project for the 1st graders at school. I haven't done much sewing lately and fortunately it wasn't real hard. We made book bags for the kids.

The finished product. Don't tell Mindy but I had fun doing it!

Few updates!

Cierra was baptized a few weeks ago. She was really excited. It was great that her Dad was able to baptize her.

The whole family.
Kaylee playing volley ball.

We celebrated birthdays Saturday. Lee, Mindy and Austin's birthdays are all in October, so we did them all at once. Family get togethers are always nice.

Leavenworth!

We went to watch Jodi run her half marathon at Leavenworth. The weather was beautiful, but we noticed that the trees haven't really changed colors yet. She had a good run and improved her time, but scared us by almost passing out at the finish line, especially when you are walking up to a crowd of people, just being nosy and see your daughter laying on the ground. The medics checked her out and told her to go to the hospital, she said she would but of course never did. If her vitals hadn't been ok we would have insisted and she still probably wouldn't go.

Getting ready!
The group of girls that went.

And they are off.

Looking good so far.

Always the ham, now I know where her kids get it...

A big smile so I guess she is doing ok.

They checked her blood sugar and it was fine.

Lee just hanging out waiting.

Jodi talking with Sean and telling him what happened.

That's me watching her, the one behind the sunglasses, really need learn to smile more.
It was a good time, wish the rest of the family were there. I think Mindy is going to run this one next year, I know she can do it.

Harvest Time and Sports!!

Fall is here and it is time to harvest our orchard. Well at least the three apples on our apple tree. They actually didn't taste too bad. Maybe next year will be better.

Austin is playing tackle football this year. They have the pads and helmets. They look like smaller versions of professionals players. It is fun to watch and very intense, the parents can get pretty crazy, so far it has all been in fun. Austin is #98.

Making a tackle.

Mindy and Shaylyn coming back from looking at team t-shirts for Grandpa (hunter orange).

Connor is playing soccer. Here he is taking a break. He played goalie the 2nd half of the game and did a great job.

He did a great job as goalie. (I looked it up, with my glasses and now have the correct spelling.)

Cierra and Brooke at Connor's game. Not sure who the other little girl is but she's not one of ours.

Cierra, always with a big smile.

Sand Dunes, Birthday and Moths!

Lee and I went to the Sand Dunes in Oregon last week. We had a great time and the weather was perfect, so perfect we stayed an extra day. We were with Jay and Penny and many others that going riding. It is a long drive so we went about half way and stayed in Walmart for the night. This Walmart had a huge parking lot and there were lots of semi's and many RV's there. It seems like they planned the big lot just for people to stay, they know that they would get lots of business from people traveling.
Here is a picture of the beautiful sunset while we were staying at Walmart.
Our truck and trailer parked at Walmart..

Lee getting ready to take off for more riding.

Taking a pit stop. Jay's ready to go.
It is hard to believe how big these sand dunes get, this doesn't really show the size.
Lee's ready to take off, here he is standing by the Ranger Razr. I wasn't sure about it because it is very different from riding a quad. I had fun driving it, but Lee was amazing with it. We were able to go anywhere the rest did and we didn't even have sand tires. I wasn't afraid at all, I had all the confidence in the world riding with Lee. Riding in the trails was so much fun.
Here I am waiting to take off. It was a great week and I am happy that we bought the Razr. Really had a blast.

At Red Robin for Cierra's Birthday. Looks at Cierra's beautiful smile. These kids have it made, they always get two parties.

All the grandkids haging out after dinner.

This moth, at least I think it is a moth was on the window screen (outside). It was kind of cool looking but gave me the willies. It stayed there for several days without moving.
