Kaylee's basketball and Grandparents Day!

Kaylee is playing church basketball this year and of course Jodi needed something to do so she is coaching. I don't think Kaylee has played much, but I hope she is having fun. All the young women on the team are so supportive of Kaylee. The young men are there watching and they are so encouraging to the girls, it is really great to see. Mindy is coaching a church team also. We haven't been there to watch (no grandkids playing), but we will and will also take pictures. Mindy and Jodi are both playing on church teams, against each other. We haven't gone to watch yet, but hear it is pretty intense. I will definitely take pictures. We are very proud of our daughters for the things they do and are involved in, they are both very good at it.

It was Grandparents Day at school this past week for the grandkids. They seem to enjoy us coming and we do enjoy going. It is always fun to see them in different settings. The one that amazes us the most is Cierra. If you know Cierra you know she loves to talk and be involved with everything going on around her. Well when we go to see her on grandparents day, she will barely say a word. She will only say something if we ask her a question, it is so funny. The other kids are the same as usual. They all like to talk about what is going on at school and the fun they have. It is a special time and is something we will never forget.
Here are some pictures of us with all the kids

Snow, Beach, Christmas and Family, Brookie Cookie!

There has been a lot going on this last month during the holidays and with a new year here, I'm sure there will be a lot more this new year ahead. New Years Eve was what it has been the last few years, just staying home and watching the new year come in on TV. New Years day was a little more exciting. The grandkids wanted to go sledding, so we had to go find the snow. We drove up to Paradise and we sure did find the snow. The drive up was pretty exciting. We had Cierra and Shaylyn with us and when we started getting into the snow they got a little excited and said that grandpa was trying to kill them. Well we had no problems at all, but when they say you have to have chains and you don't, well you do (well me) tend to worry. It was really busy and they would only let you sled in one area, so they didn't get much sledding in. As usual I stayed in the car, just in case one of the kids got cold, I would be there ready to help.

I just love this picture of Lee and Brooke, what a wonderful Grandpa.

It really started snowing pretty good and the fog was coming in. I was ready to go!

Happy Anniversary to Us!

In November we had our 40th wedding anniversary. We hadn't made any big plans and kept putting it off. After the holidays we were ready to wind down. Though the weather wasn't very good we decided to go to the ocean anyway. I had looked online for a place to stay and found this cabin. Looked nice and the price was reasonable. Always thinking it is never what it looks like, I was prepared. We were pleasantly surprised. It was really nice. Like a little home away from home. The main building had three hotel rooms, a restaurant (not opened much this time of year) and the owners living quarters. Then there were four cabins. They were close to each other, but yet very private. We enjoyed ourselves immensely.

Down stairs was a bedroom with a queen size bed.

The loft had two twin bed in one area.

Kitchen had everything you needed.

Our bed. It was the most comfortable bed I have slept in (except ours). There also was a great view of the ocean.

We had two great days and two rainy. We had to take our opportunity when it was nice to walk on the beach.

Of course we had Christmas!

It is always crazy at our house, wouldn't change it a bit.

Christmas Eve was different this year. It was really great to be able to get together with the rest of the Newbold's. It has been a while and it was really nice to be able to do it again.

My Sisters and Running in the cold!

Me, Teri and Coralee, youngest to the oldest (had to put that in since I will always be the youngest). My sisters and I don't have many chances for all of us to get together now. Coralee and her husband Lance are traveling the United States and flew home to see family, so we had to take the opportunity to get together and visit. Teri is in Eastern Washington, but we are able to get together to go fishing or hunting. It was great that we were able to get together, poor Applebee's didn't think we would ever leave, then we made them take our picture. I love my sisters very much.

Mindy and Jodi did a run in the freezing cold. See the ice on the little pond. It was so cold I stayed in the car.

Here they are getting ready to take off. I love them both exactly the same ( a little joke between us).

Mindy finishing up. She did great and we are so proud of her.

Jodi ran a longer race then Mindy, here she is finishing. She is amazing.

Thanksgiving and More!

Here we are, the dinner is all ready and we are dishing up. Hours to get ready and ten minutes to eat.

Dinners over and here comes the fun, getting ready for Black Friday. The Grandkids are putting in their requests.

Kaylee being silly and Connor getting down to business.

Brooke, the cutie pie. What is with all the Cowboy stuff.

Austin wants to make sure he doesn't miss out on anything.

Shaylyn and Cierra playing Monopoly.

Chance buttering up his parents.

Grandpa taking it all in.
We not only have the ads, we also have the computer to check it all out.

Brooke is brushing Grandpa's hair, she loves fixing his hair, not that there is to much you can do with it. I know he enjoys it.

The 29th was our 40th anniversary. Yes, 40th, that is just not possible. Here are some flowers from Teri and Bill. Look at this beautiful bloom. Wish they would last forever. Thanks Teri and Bill.

We had some windows replaced this past summer. We just replaced the glass because the old ones had "failed" and had stuff between the panes. Well Lee was up early and watching TV (probably some hunting show) and he heard this big bang, like a pipe might have busted. No it was our new window cracking. He heard it crack all the way from the top to the bottom. They are coming out Thursday to replace it. Glad it just cracked and didn't shatter. The window guy said it must have gotten chipped during installation. Glad they are paying for it and not us.
